The Galerie bei der Oper (Gallery at the Opera) is located near the Vienna State Opera, right in the city centre of Vienna. Our gallery, run by a team of experts, displays a collection of Japanese Woodblock Prints dating from the 18th to 20th century. Also on display are collections of European Woodblock Prints and Asian objets d'art, including Netsuke, Lacquer, Japanese and Chinese Ceramics.

Andreas Wurzer

(from Vienna) made a career change to the art world. He has spent a long time working in the field of international environmental protection.

Andreas Wurzer

A three-year stay in Paris roused his now burning interest in art, especially in classical modern art. With the opening of the gallery in 2013, a dream has been realised for Andreas Wurzer, who has been already working as a part-time art dealer for eight years.

He is the Director of the gallery.

Sophie Adensamer

(from Vienna) graduated in Art History at the University of Vienna in 2013 and holds a post-graduate Certificate in Art and Cultural Management.

She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the gallery, research and marketing.

Sophie joined the team in 2016.

 

 

Birgit Prunner

(from Meran, South Tyrol) graduated in Art History at the University of Vienna in 2011 and holds a post-graduate Certificate in Art and Cultural Management.

She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the gallery and the webshop.
