Artist unknown (Utagawa School)

Ink hand drawing with a little bit of red ink on very thin paper, slightly glossy at the front side Unsigned, Utagawa school, 19th century Condition: Paper a little bit creased, a few tiny wormholes, a few tiny holes at right margin, a weak spot at right margin, otherwise perfect condition. The beautiful drawings from this group, obviously all made by one hand, are either preparatory drawings (shita-e) for colour woodblock prints or copies after such prints. Stylistically and thematically, these drawings are most likely to be attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Gototei or Kôchôrô period, ca. 1820-30) or his studio. The execution is very careful, with detailed drawing of hands and feet. Size Oban (37,6 x 27,5 cm)
