The splendidly creepy ghost of a woman appears, purple lips curling back from her gums and eyes half-slitted. She is dressed as the dead are, in a white shroud and with a bag (zudabukuro) hung around her neck. As this is a respectful copy of a painting done by the incomparable Maruyama Ôkyo, on the lower left is the signature Maruyama Mondo, one of Ôkyo's pseudonyms.
